Valentine’s Day in Dayton, Ohio is one of my favorite times of the year to plan. Whether you are celebrating with a partner, friends, or even just yourself, there are so many fun, cozy, and unique things happening around the city. From downtown ice skating to museum nights, live music, art workshops, planetarium shows, and yes even goats and cookies, there is something for every kind of Valentine.
Here is a little guide to make your Valentine’s Day in Dayton unforgettable
Ice Skating at Riverscape MetroPark
Enjoy the Sweetheart Special for $25 for two while supplies last. Glide across the ice and take in the wintery downtown views. This is perfect for couples who want a fun, festive outing.
Dayton Art Institute
Check out the Saturday Community Tours to explore the collection in a new way. Open Thursday through Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM, with late hours on Thursday until 8 PM. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, military, or groups, $5 for students and youth, and free for kids 6 and under or museum members. Discover art, history, and maybe even find a new favorite piece.
Boonshoft Museum Planetarium Valentine’s Night
Step into the cosmos for a Valentine’s evening at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery on February 13 and 14. Shows start at 6:30 PM and 8 PM. Tickets are $60 per couple and include a magical evening under the stars.
Goats and Cookies at The Grazing Ground Market
Decorate three gluten-free cookies and then head to the barn for cuddles with adorable goats. This is quirky, cozy, and definitely one of my favorite Valentine’s date ideas. February 14 from 1 to 2 PM, $25 per person.
Air Force Museum Foundation: After Dark Swing the Night Away
Enjoy a night of live swing music and dancing at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. You can explore unique artifacts, themed open aircraft, trivia with prizes, plus games, food, and cash bars. This is a 21 plus event and tickets are $45 per person.
Waynesville Chocolate Walk
Take a sweet stroll through downtown Waynesville on February 14. Sample chocolate from local shops including the Waynesville Candy Shop while supplies last. This is a fun, low-key way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and it is free.
